How do you know if you've burnt your hair using hair irons or etc?

I think I burnt my hair, the texture is rougher than normal... woops. How do I prevent from burning my hair next time? And my hair stylist gets really mad at me when I burn my hair. How do you know if you've burnt your hair using hair irons or etc?
don't straighten it as much. I use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner and a fhi straightener which supposedly doesn't ';burn your hair'; but it still does. My hair dresser has told me that if a piece is still hot after you straighten it then don't re straighten it until it is cool. She said straightening a section of hair immediately after you just straightened it kills it. So i have tried to straighten it less and not straighten the same pieces over and over again. So far its working pretty good. I also use a heat protector before that you spray in your hair. Oh and she said to always use a finishing creme to seal in moisture. Any one works at a CVS or Supermarket. Good luck! How do you know if you've burnt your hair using hair irons or etc?
when after u straighten it or watever you have small hairs that stick up at the top of ur hair..... after washing ur hair and drying it with a hirdryer it still feels dry

2 words: FRIZZZ %26amp; DEAD-ENDS!
You will know if you have burnt your hair if it feel rough brittle and starts to split. To prevent this you should use a heat protection spray. They are avaliable in many brands and simply spray onto the hair in a fine mist before styling to add a layer of prtection to your hair from the heat. I would also recommend a deep conditioning treatment to help your hair out if you use heat to style it regularly.
you will definately know when that smell hits your nose. just make sure you moisturize everyday and next time turn the temperature down and you may even want to consider cutting down use of heated styling tools. and also condition
If you think you did, then you probley did. Make sure you get a ceramic iron. Metal will burn hair easly. Also ask you stylist about a thermal protecting spray. Biolage makes a nice one. Also make sure you are using a professional shampoo %26amp; conditioner.

ps an iron with a tempture control may be key, most ceramic irons have them.
you probably havent put any protection on it first. try using some thermal protector that you spray onto your hair before you straighten it. it helps keep the moisture in your hair, and leaves it feelin soft and shiny. also prevents split ends. if you have burnt your hair, it will feel dry, but thermal protection will help. hope this helps xx
you will get split ends and your hair will feel dry.
