How bad is hair styling products (ie, hair gel) for hair loss?

Well gels and mousse have a tendency to dry the hair out really bad which can lead to breakage, and this will make you already thining hair look even worse. You can try washing and air drying and using a moisterizer...

Do Australians use Aussie hair styling products?

I've found out recently that most Australians don't drink Fosters or go to Outback Steakhouse, so I figured I might as well ask the last somewhat offensive Australian question I could think of. I would be much obliged for a true ';down-under'; response.Do Australians use Aussie hair styling products?
Some do, some don't. I tend to change my brands every so often %26amp; whatever takes my fancy I use.To tell you the truth, I don't even look at the label to see where it's made %26amp; I doubt others would as well. Why do you imagine this Q would be offensive?Do Australians use Aussie hair styling products?
You're right there, we only export Fosters we don't drink the piss. And Outback Steakhouse has only opened in Australia in the past 12 months.

I don't get what you mean by an offensive question, but we do have some Australian brands but the most popular ones are the imported brands. We have all the usuals like Pantene, Sunsilk, Schwarzkopf, L'Oreal, etc..
Man you people in other countries know how to stereotype.

We use whatever brands we want. Some Australian, some american, some whatever. Just depends what an individuals personal preference is for their hair care.
The Outback Steakhouse chain is an American chain which attempts to fool Americans, quite successfully it would seem, that it represents Australian culture (which it doesn't).

There are some branches here in Australia.

What Hair Styling Products are good to get natural/curly hair?? thanks?

Paul Mitchell is said to be good but idkWhat Hair Styling Products are good to get natural/curly hair?? thanks?
Paul Mitchell is good, but expensive!

My hair is super curly. When i wash it i use Herbal Essence, Hello Hydration., but that is because my hair is dry. find a shampoo and conditioner that will help your hair be at its healthiest ,and that will help your curls to look better.

Then after i wash my hair, I use a curl cream, all the ones i've tried have worked great. Right now i'm using the Strong, Garnier Fructis Style Soft Curl Cream.

I hope that helps! Good luck :)

Where can I buy Bed head hair styling products from?

Where can you buy Bed head products in Ipswich UK??Where can I buy Bed head hair styling products from?
Hey hun, I was wondering the same thing until I went to a hairdressers in my local area. There they sold all the Bed Head range by Tigi, and also sold the GHD straighteners too. So go around some hairdressers (Good ones) and see if they sell them!

Good luck!

xWhere can I buy Bed head hair styling products from?
they've got them at Ulta. I highly recommend ';After Party'; I was looking for a product that would make my hair shine and lay down some, this stuff is awesome and it smells good too. My mom loves it too. Shes 73 and it makes her white/gray hair shine like glass.
Wal Mart is starting to sell Bed Head products...not very many though. Your best bet is Target, They have alot to offer! Otherwise most salons carry it but you are paying more for it!~ Target would be my first option!
You can only buy bead head products in salons :) x

    Dippity-Do and Brelcream
Dippity-doo (like modern hair gel but it was bright green and came in a glass jar)

    Aquanet hairspray

Short and Sassy shampoo was popular in the '70s for the Dorothy Hamill hairstyle.

    Prell Shampoo

Dippity-Do for women and Grecian Formula for Men. These were early, and badly done, forms of gels. Also, aerosol hair sprays that blew the hole in the ozone. AquaNet is the only one I can think of. These were not products but were popular ways to change your hair - women who wanted the wild curly/kinky hair would braid it in two braids when it was wet, sleep on it overnight, and in the morning they had cool, frizzed out hair. ( I did it) Women with curly hair got the straight hair look by ironing it on an ironing board. (My sister did that.) She also would put her hair up in one pony tail at the top of her head, then divide it in two pieces, rolling each section over frozen orange juice containers to straighten it. (Yes, they were empty.)
    1) frozen orange juice cans for really big rollers and some bobby pins to fasten hair to the rollers

    2) clothes iron to straighten curling hair

    3) rat-tail comb

    4) bonnet hair-dryer

    5) Dippity-do styling gel

    See: http://www.fiftiesweb.com/fashion/hair-s/a>
my favorite shampoo back in the 70 was ';body on tap';...it had beer in it. They dont make it anymore? I remember it smelled good.

Who has the best hair styling products that won't damage your hair?

    I'm talking about

    Shampoos

    Conditioners

    Curling Irons

    Blow Dryers

I'm looking for something that will keep my hair healthy. In your opinion, which is the best?Who has the best hair styling products that won't damage your hair?
Well, obviously it depends on what kind of hair you have. Whether it's curly, straight, or somewhere in between the two. Also if it's dry or if it's thin or thick. Add that to your question and you'll get better results. Also, saying your hairstyle may help.Who has the best hair styling products that won't damage your hair?
Shampoo and conditioner, and other styling products, I absolutely LOVE Redken. Their stuff makes my hair look and feel amazing.

I don't really use curling irons much, and when I do, it's a really cheap one, so I can't help you out there. And I don't know the brand of my mom's dryer (though it's a professional quality one), so I can't help you there either.
john freida collection frizz ease serum spray is really good . i spray it on before and after i blowdrie my hair it stops it getting quite so heat damaged and makes it really shiney!!!!

hope i helped please answer my hair question on page one titled PLEASE help me!! I cant decide how to have my hair cut?thank you

Whats the best hair styling products to use?

I am looking for styling products that smell good and really work. I love Clynol Look at Me Range and Bedhead Tigi and ive also heard Lee Stafford smells good too. Firstly i want a mousse for volume, secondly a protection spray for before i straighten, thirdly a serum and lastly a strong hairspray. Im also looking for a hair perfume to get rid of that burnt smell from my hair and to freshen up my hair the second day, does anyone know of any?

Thanks xWhats the best hair styling products to use?
The only product that I can help with is a strong hairspray. I have just discovered Tresemme it's in a white can with blue writing which says ';Freeze Hold extra strong hold'; . There is no build up and if you want to give it an extra squirt it will hold your hair in place all day.Whats the best hair styling products to use?
Okay if your looking for a good mousse, i suggest you get something like Aussie, all aussie products smell really good!

here are a list of aussie products for you to have a browse at:

    http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/s/a>

And you also said that you would like a protection spray. Well i vary my protection sprays, and use different ones that are really good. I'm not so sure on a really good protection spray, because none work 100%, but i suppose you could get anything like

    Lee Stafford

    Aussie

    John Freida

    Mark Hill

    Trevor Sorbie

    Toni%26amp;guy

    and so on...

You also said you want a nice serum. Well i'm currently using toni%26amp;guy serum, and its fantastic. I only need a tiny bit, and i have absolute loads! It works really well on my hair.

And for a nice strong hairspray, i find that l'oreal elnett hairspray works just fine for me, and it keeps my hair in place, but i guess everyone is different with their opinions on hairsprays.

    Hope this helps! :)

Chi products are awesome. They have one called silk infusion smells amazing %26amp; makes hair look great it's designed to be used with a flat iron. Can anyone suggest good hair styling products?
Use a good leave-in conditioner before applying the styling product. That will keep your hair from drying out.
i dunno wut ya mean by product but the best conditioner that i have ever used is the herbal essences new things the twist....like french lavender twist and stuff like that... awesome!!
I like Sebastian's Potion #9. It coats the hair well and the heat from the hair dryer makes the coating shine and it seals the cuticle. Blowdrying straight with a nice flat paddle brush would most likely work and not dry out your hair. Just a suggestion, good luck!

  • Are there any hair styling products for infants?

My son is 6 months old. He has wavy/curly hair but it is very frizzy! His hair looks adorable when its wet but as soon as it dries...POOF!

I can't find any products for babies and I know adult products would be too harsh. Does anybody know of anything?

Thanks! Are there any hair styling products for infants?
D'Organiques Original Sprout hair gel is 100% natural and not sticky. It really smoothes my sons fine curls without weighing it down or being greasy either. It's expensive but last a while. http://www.originalsprout.com/styling/ba/a>Are there any hair styling products for infants?
Lol! I don't think there are but sometimes I wish there was. My son's hair sticks straight up in the back and it really is adorable but I don't know what we're going to do when he gets a little bit older. Hopefully it settles down a bit.
More likely his hair is dry,try a moisturising shampoo %26amp; conditioner.you could try loreal kids, they have detangling sprays %26amp; other products.maybe its time for a haircut, then you could ask the hairdresser.
you can use aloe vera as gel, i use it in my hair sometimes to help control frizz and it is all natural so if should not harm the baby.
You could use baby oil or Vaseline. There are kid styling products you could try. You can buy a child's moisturizing shampoo with conditioner. Really curly hair is hard to care for, but so cute.
they sell baby oil gel in the baby section at cvs walgreens etc.

its different from just baby oil its actually gel for babies hair doesnt get sticky or anything from it..one of my sons had really dry hair i used this on him
My hubby has wavy hair too. He uses a tiny amount of vaseline to keep his hair under control. He combs it in...vaseline won't hurt baby.
i used vaseline on my son hair when he was that age just to keep it moisturized .
You could try a little baby oil. Wouldn't go with anything else at this age.

In ASDA, there is a gorgeous smelling shampoo called 'Raspberry Milkshake' which actually protects your hair from heat.

But, as you say, Aussie does have the best hair products. They smell fruity and refreshing and can really protect your hair, I used to use it all the time but nowadays I can hardly find it.

How do you ensure that your hair's quality is maintained after using hair styling products?

I do not use hair styling products very often, so I am wondering if there are procedures to ensure that my hair does not deteriorate. For example, do you need to wash your hair after it is gelling it (after the day is over and the gel has done it's job, of course) to maintain the quality of your hair? How do you ensure that your hair's quality is maintained after using hair styling products?
your hair is very resilient-it can handle 450 degree heat and products with ammonia. simply perform your daily regimen, you will be fine..gels sometimes flake so shampoo before you go out again and reapply..good luck. How do you ensure that your hair's quality is maintained after using hair styling products?
Professional products will NOT damage your hair, never brush out hairspray. Always shampoo it out and condition good if you've used a lot and have tangles.

Even if you use stuff over the counter, the worst that could happen is you would notice dulling build-up on the hair making it drab and lifeless. Nothing would make it deteriorate. Unless you use a chemical...like bleach or a perm.
Its better to wash out anything that youve used during the day. Hairspray can usually just be brushed out.

It wont effect the quality of your hair staying in, it just makes it feel not so nice.

A good idea is to use a hair treatment once a week. Thatt will keep your hair in good shape.

What are some good hair styling products/tips?

My hair is chin-length, brown, and very thick. Whenever I try to use a styling product, such as gel, it never works right. If I use a curler and curl my hair, the curls end up limping out in a few short hours. If I straighten my hair, it goes back to it's wild and wavy style by the end of the day.

I want my hair to be able to be 'played with'. I want to try different gels and styles and actually have them work. Does anyone have tips on good products for my kind of hair, or tips on how I can style it better? What are some good hair styling products/tips?

Garnei Frutis or however your spell it has a product that shines and nourishes your hair. Like of you are curling it then while spray on that spray and then use hair sray after words. Its cheap too like 3 bucks! i forgot the name but u can get it in a goop or spray ! =] try it . Walmart selld it and if you read the names you wont miss it.Are there any hair styling products that i can apply daily that helps my hair?
wow-you might want to try more than one product-i'd try a leave in conditioner, or smoothing creme or the john frieda daily nourishment spray. Many styling creames are better for your hair than gels (tousel me softly creme from herbal essences-in a purple ';pot'). Aussie also makes a 2 in 1 product that is a mousse and leave in conditioner-but i tried it and it isnt very moisturizing...but may work for you! Good luck!
I'd look for a nourishing wax..I think Garnier Fructis makes a pretty cheap one.

I want to be a hairstylist too! That will happen next year. I would love to get a white coat with my name embroidered and below ';Professional Hair Designer';.. i think would be cute. well buy a crystal liquid for you hair i have wavy hair also but i use it it helps a lot it makes your hair more oily not like dirty just shiny and make your hair look tinierWhat are the best hair styling products for wavy hair?
hey robbie i was like that too i just use some gel :D and gel makes u hair last along time.O BTW HUGO BOSS HAS BEEN SUSPENDED.hes using another account :(
I have wavy/curly hair and I straighten mine too.

Your profile says you live in the UK so I'm sure you know where your local Boots store is. Go to Boots and find a Trebor Sorbie hair mask, its loaded with proteins and vitamins so it's really nourishing for your hair, particularly if you straighten it. Even when I've neglected my hair, when I use the hair mask it gives my hair the kiss of life and makes it shiny and gorgeous again :D

Buy a good quality shampoo and conditioner desgined for volumising your hair. For oodles of volume, use a salon standard hairspray like LOreal Elnett, it's stood the test of time and it really works great.

Remember that straighteners can really damage your hair so make sure you use a good heat protection spray too. :)

Random tip - when you're about to blow dry your wet 'just washed' hair, aim the hairdrier *upwards* and it'll give it tons of va va voom. You'll be amazed at how voluminous it'll look when fully dry.

If you're having a REALLY BAD hair day, use a hat. You'll look cool and cover up unruly locks at the same time.

What hair styling products can i put in my hair to make my curls perfect?

my friend has naturally curly hair and she puts in leave in conditioner.her curls always look so good. what can i put in my hair? i usually put in mousse. should i put in my leave in conditioner?the other day i did my hair curly and it looked horrible.my hair felt crunchy too.when sheould i put the products in when my hair wet or dry? What hair styling products can i put in my hair to make my curls perfect?
I found a website that has some really good tips on getting that sprial curl look. Remember to not brush or comb out your hair. Use your fingers.

http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Spiral-CurlsWhat hair styling products can i put in my hair to make my curls perfect?
The first time that I tried putting gel in my hair to make it curly, I ended up with this kind of icky crunchy mess of a head of hair.

After years of practice to tame my naturally wavy hair, I have found that the best type of product to work into your hair for curls is a curling cream.

Typically, once I am fresh out of the shower, I might only dab dry my hair to get some of the excess water out, then apply a quarter-size amount of creme to my hair. Note: Avoid brushing through your hair with a brush or hands as it will ruin the natural drying texture your hair begins to have once out of the shower.

Sometimes, I use curling mousse too, or just on it's own but sometimes it comes out with the same crunchy effect that you are having. Curly, bouncy and maybe a bit messy? Cute. Crunchy and wet looking? Just looks trashy.

If you get stuck in another crunchy bind with your hair, spray some water into your hair to reactivate the products and blow dry it on a medium to high heat setting on the lowest speed. Use your hands to scrunch your hair as it dries. This will make the curls look more natural and not so forced.

In conjunction with this, deep condition your hair once a week with natural elements, such as olive oil mixed with egg (detangler and protein), or buy a deep conditioner from the store. Either way, if you are heating your hair, adding moisture can only help it look healthier.
    1. Use leave in conditioner to make your hair smooth, managleable, and frizz free.

    2. Use products in damp hair, it works best. Also read the directions on the bottle to help you style your hair.

    Hope i helped =]

    Hair-styling products...?

There is a hair-styling product where you apply some onto the hair and then you just need to twist the hair with fingers and new hairstyle is formed...

I need help to find a brand of this hair-styling product...

The words written on the container of the hair-styling product is something like this: 'helena ....' (I supposed that it is the brand) and 'twister'...

    can you help me?

    Hair + Styling (Products)!?

Does anyone know of any good styling products for shoulder length hair? Or any good tips. also i need products that won't leave my hair hair as a rockHair + Styling (Products)!?
what kind of hair do you have?

I'm really into the new Sunsilk line. But Samy products are also great. Use as few products as possible, so you don't weigh down your hair, and don't use too much! Everyone has a tendency to put more in than necessary, but that's what makes hair crunchy.Hair + Styling (Products)!?
go to seventeen.com or makeover solutions and use your own pic to try on hair styles.... i like redken hair products
pantine and dont use gel or mouse its not good and try goin to a saloon im sure theyll help try oiling and geting it set from them thats wat i do and my hair is shoulder lenght
OK sunsilk is very good for hair. And also Vo5 is good shampoo and conditioner for hair!
It depends what kind of style you're looking for.

If you want your hair to be curly, I suggest using the Catwalk ';Curls Rock'; 5-step system of shampoo, conditioner, leave-in moisturizer, booster, and amplifier. It doesn't leave your hair greasy like other scrunching or curling gels (just don't use a lot of amplifier -- less than one squirt is usually enough for me), and It's a little bit more expensive, but it's completely worth it; I use it almost every day and it works so well. This also leaves your hair very soft and natural feeling.

If you want your hair to be straight, I suggest using Aussie's Moist shampoo and conditioner. This leaves your hair extremely soft. Follow up by blowdrying it and using a straightening iron if needed, and you're all set.

    Hair styling products?

I have a problem with picking out the right products for my hair. I want something that will keep my hair less frizzy and give me volume in the roots because my hair gets weighed down. It is not thick and its length is around the collarbone, but there is a lot of it and it is a bit on the wavy side. Can you advise me on what type of product should I use (i.e. mouse, gel...) and if there is a particular brand that you like?Hair styling products?
I always start off with a good shampoo which i think is the root of all good hair days lol .. Id go with the salon shampoos because they are less harsh on your hair something like biolage or matrix are very affordable. Any mousse is fine get a volumizing one, I really like the Tressemme line of hair care products especially the ones that are supposed to protect your hair from heat damage. And then a smoothing serum is always your best option I would either reccomend Biosilk, or Chi Liquid silk either one ... the chi smells amazing .. and works wonders! I was about to give up on my hair till I found it. by the sound of it I have very similar hair to yours..it helps keep my hair under control, and defrizzed ALL DAY!Hair styling products?
Sunsilk. It'll be great for your hair type and it's in any store for a cheap price.

Difference between $29 and $200 hair irons?

Why would I spend hundreds of dollars on a ';Chi'; or ';T3'; hair iron when I can get one in Walmart for $29? It boggles my mind how ladies spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for these irons, what makes them so great???Difference between $29 and $200 hair irons?
i have a chi straightener bc of the quality of the product. they r very good and last a long time. if you aere thinking about getting a chi i would recomend it bc it willl work on any hair type. i have naturally curly hair soo those cheapo ones from walmart dnt work on my hair. also my chi straughtener makes my hair stay straight all day. if you are going to straighten your hair make sure you use heat protectant or else it will damage your hair and it will give you terrible split ends!

    hope this helped! :D

    plz help with my question!

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AmiCc5OWsyqlC1C82Vcg_L3sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20091223080322AAXS8ZgDifference between $29 and $200 hair irons?
The more expensive ones reach a hotter temperature.
You get what you pay for. You don't have to spend $200 on an iron, they have tons of great ones for $60-120.

There is a reason why these brands are so popular and the one at walmart for $29 is $29 dollars. The cheaper ones claim they are ceramic, but they are usually a cheap metal with a ceramic coat that will wear off. The brand name iron will give you better results, smoother, silkier hair, and less damaging
Sometimes the expensive ones are just a waste you are better off with the drug store brand. Other times the more expensive brand is much better. I bought a herstyler flat iron which was 100 dollars and compared to my 20 dollar flat irons it was the best. I love my herstyler and it had no damage to my hair and I was crushed when it broke. I bought a Sedu which was about 200 something dollars. Better than the herstyler and when I opened it I immediately knew that the plates were a lot different than all those other flat irons. Sedu was the best flat iron I ever had and it was so worth the price. Now again this the expenses and just a waste. There are flat irons like that. I really like the Chi but it is really expensive. Save the extra 40 dollars and go buy you GVP which is like a generic version of the CHI it is really cheap based on the qualities because it is only 50 or 60 dollars. With that extra cash you can buy them family a cheap meal at burger king lol! I use to love the ANDIS walmart flat iron because I had one it wasn't as good as my herstyler but it was great. That broke to and I was upset so I brought it again and this time it was really crappy I hated it. I think it was just a faulty product and instead of buying another one I bought a sedu.

Its like a car the more it is the better it is. You can waste 5,000 dollars on a used 1999 acura or you can buy yourself a cool new 2010 60,000-90,000 dodge charger.
The more expensive ones have better features.

They heat up faster, and get hotter. These irons will most likely have an adjustable temperature switch, too. And most importantly, they won't burn your hair :) The cheap Walmart ones will.

A Chi is only about $75. One of the most expensive flat irons is a GHD, but it's well worth it. So is a Sedu.

    :]
My main concern was the cheep ones would catch my hair and rip it out. The CHI one I have has rounded edges, and gets nice and hot, and I haven't had a hair ripped out since I got it over a year ago. I went cheep on the first couple flat irons, and not worth it. Hot tools, vidal sassoon, ick! Invest in a good one, it'll last you a long time, and give great results!
I don't know. I got one from walmart for $32 and it reaches 430 degrees. And it works great!
the more expensive, the better , if you get one at walmart for 30$ , chances your gonna be buying a new one . cheap ones are made really cheap, and not worth buying.
It's a general rule when it comes to flat irons that the more you spend the better quality you get. They get hotter, they last longer, they are better quality all together. I'd suggest getting a GHD or CHI.http://www.overstock.com/Health-Beauty/G/a> This is the one that I have had for years and it still runs like the day I got it.

    GHD Hair irons!?

OK! Well i've been debating about buying some GHD's and i've heard that there the best around! So, if i'm looking to buy some whats the best type i can get? Something that will curl aswell? And of great quality! If you've owned a pair can you give me your feedback? Thanks!GHD Hair irons!?
I think there's only one type of GHD hair straightener. What everyone says is true,, they're just the best straighteners in the world. I don't think there are any others that come close to being as powerful, my other pair hardly does anything at all.

I don't think you can get GHDs that will curl, sorry.

Oh, and if you're curious, this opinion is coming from a guy, so now you know guys like them too!

What are the disadvantages of hair ironing?

    it kills your hair.

otherwise i see noproblem with itWhat are the disadvantages of hair ironing?
The heat breaking the hair or burning it.What are the disadvantages of hair ironing?
SLOWLY SLOWLY it damages your hair and gives you an unhealthly good. But if you get this think that I forgot whats it called but you put it on before you use an iron and it doesn't damage your hair. and the thing you put on doesn't damage it eigther.
    1. Brittle hair

    2. Susceptible to damage.

    3. Dry hair

    Therefore, induces hair fall.
it kills your hair and makes it fry and grooss after a while.
It dries out your hair and eventually causes A LOT of SPLIT ENDS. You should buy a heat protective spray and spitz it all over your hair before using a flat iron or any other heat device. The heat protective spray REALLY works and prevents damage from being done to your hair. After your done ironing, rub leave in conditioner in your hair .
Everyone is saying how bad it is...i used for a long time and it was not that bad...if you take care it works and the damage is none! you have to use it the right way: first your hair needs to be completelly towel dryed after washing, then you can pick up a small amount of hair and use the iron only 2 times on each small amount of hair and be carefully when you are handle it. Oh and dont forget to use always a conditioner after washing your hair and apply a hair mask weekly.forget about the leav in products cause it will dry your hair.and dont be afraid... kisses!
well...hair ironing can lead to loss of hair..nd yes..ur hair becomes dry...nd ironing it frequently can make all da cells in ur hair dead...soo..basically...ur hair becomes daed...u shud not srtaighten it 4 more that a half a dozen times..!
it will damage the naturality taht u have in ur hair as in the shine n etc. it even destroys the protein content in the hair
    Hair cells are already dead.

But when your straighten it you can get heat damage and the ends of your hair go frizzy.

not a good look. trust me.

to prevent this you can use a shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair and limit the frequency of time you sraighten your hair.

    =)

    good luck
It makes your hair thin in the long run..
destroys ur hair. makes it brittle
It dries your hair out alot

    Which hair iron is better?

so i wanna get a new hair straightener and i wanna get the herstyler but my mom wants me to get the chi so i dont know

sombody who has had both please answer i need help

*ive heard the chi breaks easy like after 5 months..does it??

and the herstyler is just cheap and not good is that true??

    please%26amp;thankyou:]]Which hair iron is better?
The herstyler is sold via commission, meaning they aren't as great as the price would reflect them to be. The durability isn't too good either, and people still get fried hair when they use it.

Between the two, the CHI is the better choice because its a noted salon brand with a pretty generic price, there is really no bottom line pricing on it, which means you get what you pay for :)

Personally, i wouldn't go with either. I like the FHI, Solia, and Sedu irons, which all run around the 100 range as opposed to the CHI

If you're going for the CHI though, i like the classic, becuase it's the cheapest iron, but it also gives you the straightest hair

good luck!Which hair iron is better?
I can suggest you to put your money on CHI flat iron. Either purchase CHI 1 inch or CHI 2 inch.

I've had a chi for over a year and it hasn't broken yet. It works really good and it doesn't fry my hair, so i would go with a chi.

  • How long does hair ironing stay?

i know its till the next wash.. but will it stay the same if i dont wash for a week? How long does hair ironing stay?
Are you talking about straightening your hair with a flat iron?

If so.. it all depends on what your hair texture is like. I have straight/wavy hair so it will stay all day.. however.. that's only if the air has ZERO humidity in it. If it's humid.. my hair is ruined once I step outside. It's not going to last long if you don't wash your hair.. you will have to re-straighten it.. but it will be a lot easier the next day.How long does hair ironing stay?
That is going to destroy your hair.

There are better ways to straighten your hair
    maybe.
its just good in a day, i mean not more than 24 hours... it will get back to its normal hair type soon after the day ends due to exposure to air
If you are speaking of flat ironing or crimping - it can stay in your hair anywhere from 2-3 days successfully without washing; depending on your hair type. I don't suggest any longer - without touching up your hair and burning it further. Also, use some of the leave in hair conditioner or Paul Mitchell's SUPER SKinny Serum - it will help.
I have kept mine for 2 weeks and refreshing it with the iron. My hair has maintained its sweet smell with good conditioners and serums.
it will but it will also stink
once you sleep on your bed, you roll about, turn your head about, everything is DESTROYED..... Then you got to iron your hair again. But don't do it too often though, it causes ';split ends'; to your hair and makes your hair turn dry..
    5 days
    depends
it stays until it gets wet. this includes humidity outside. so if it is humid outside, your hair will lose its ironed shape, and go back to it's natural shape.

    Hair irons...uk and canada?

Okie so i just got a phi straightener on the internet,i'm not sure if it has a volt convertor in it or not,but if i bought on it would be okie right,it wouldnt get damaged if i used that in the outlet for uk? it is for us in canada and us 120v and uk is 220-40v.

My cheap straightener has a convertor inside it so it can take up too 220v how much can the phi take?Hair irons...uk and canada?
If it is standard for American or Canadian voltage, you will need to use a converter in the UK. It depends on how good of quality the converter is as to whether the straightener will be OK for long term use - my sister had her hair dryer burnt out by a converter.

    Hair Irons?

Today I went to buy a new hair iron. I went to Sally beauty supply, and found a knock of Chi iron. http://www.sallybeauty.com/on/demandware/a>

    (59.00 - 80.00)

Then I went to Ulta and got a Chi brand one

    (130.00)

They are supposed to work the same. Should I keep the Chi or get the other?

I have very frizzy long blond hair. it is naturally wavy, like beach waves!Hair Irons?
I would keep the CHI becuase they are supposed to work the same but CHI is actually better for you hair.

By the way, my hair is the same and the CHI works perfectly on mine. Good Luck!Hair Irons?
the REAL one will work much better.

    i have one.its awesome
You bought the best on the Market buying the Chi. The knock off will work but not as well as the Chi. Of course all Flat irons will take their toll on your hair, stripping it of all it's moisture, creating split ends and extreme dryness in the hair. I never promote using one, but if you must, then so be it. Just replenish the loss with mositurizers once a week to twice a month and you should be fine.
keep the chi it works the best!!!
well.. if they are the same... then it shouldnt matter.. i would go with the less expensive one. but if they are different go with the better one!

    good luck!

    On hair ironing...?

My hair is wavy but I got no problem with that, the problem is that it looks EXTREMELY frizzy and dry. Will ironing alone fix this problem? On hair ironing...?
It's kind of the curse of curly hair to be a bit on the dry side. Ask your stylist which products work best on your hair. The general rule is a little moisture and a little protein. Deep condition your hair every 7 shampoos or so and use professional products. Pomades and waxes for curly and wavy hair work great as long as you dont use too much. Check out Sexy Hairs' curly hair care line or Products by Curl Friends. My clients love these two lines. Don't underestimate the power of a good trim too. Find a stylist that's been doing hair longer than a minute and has worked with curly hair.On hair ironing...?
acutally, belive it or not, it really helps it smoothes it all out, but depending on how thick you rhiar is it can take up to an hour. what SOME people do is they just start washing their hair every otherday or so so they dont have to iron as much, it will get rid of the frizz, it will look more mosturized, but also cause your hair is dry try some universal style cream you can get that from aveda (theres a few aveda stores around or check out their site) but its calle unviversal styling cream thats what the pros use. the frizzy will be GONE trust me. you rhair will look GREAT! but along with the ironing get some of the cream it will extremely help. and you dont go through it really fast all you need is a dime size. hoep it works out!

  • Are hair irons safe??

They are safe. Just don't it them everyday. Your hair will have heat damage. Spray a little Thermasilk leave in conditioner before you use it. This will help protect your hair from the heat. Are hair irons safe??

    GHD hair irons.............?

Tomorrow i'm off out to buy my wife some wide GHD irons but before I do are they really as good as people say?

My wife has really thick hair and lots of it.Its long too.

Should she use any products with them?

    Thanks xGHD hair irons.............?
I have tried many different brands of straightening irons over the years. My hubbie bought me some GHD's last christmas and they have been an absolute godsend. My hair is really thick too and they really do work miracles. She definately should use a heat protective spray (GHD do their own which sometimes they will give you with the irons or you can buy it on the internet). To avoid damaging her hair though she should only use them a maximum of 3 times a week.GHD hair irons.............?
get hair protection syrum as the woman/bloke who works in the shop which is the best ones for long thick hair as theres a few different ones out there. male sure you get the heat protection spray as they dry the hair out and make it fo frizzy at the ends
Yeah, ask at the place your'e getting them from (failing that a hairdresser will know) I have GHD's they're fantastic...best invention second to sliced bread I'm sure, but she def will need serums etc as they do ruin your hair...
    best you can get
I have some...and they are reli good...my sisters hair is reli thick and they work reli well with her..she sometimes spays on heat protection spray...they are well worth the money and heat up in no time!!
They are the BEST, truly. I too have curly long thick hair, it works wonders. And works on the hair on my head too.

    GHD hair irons please help!!!!!?

Can anyone tell me where to buy them, i will be in London heathrow near the airport for a week.

Is there a store close to the area?

Awaiting your reply's.GHD hair irons please help!!!!!?
    Hello!

A lot of hairdressers stock ghd irons so you can try calling some around your area.

Alternatively, I actually think the best option is to buy it online and have it delivered to you through registered post. I bought the new 2008 ghd off Ebay (new, not second hand) earlier this year and it was from a registered ghd stockist and hairdresser so i could guarantee it was authentic. It actually cost me a lot cheaper than going to the store too, at least $100 cheaper than what that hairdresser was selling it for in their actual salon! And definetly cheaper than other stores i saw it in. It takes only a few days to deliver after the payment goes through.

    Good luck!

WET TO DRT WORKS THE BEST! =DKnow any good hair irons?
    wet to stright %26lt;3
the wet2dry works great they are the bomb i got one before i got my chi and they are great and awesome for under 50$ i thought that it would have been at least 200$.
i use the wet to straight ones.its bad to use when hair is wet, but the temp is adjustable so you can straighten super curly kinky hair just as easy!
    Try Helen of Troy.

  • Which is worse? Hairdryer or hair irons?

hair ions / straightners / curling tongs are far worse than a hairdryer as they are hotter and come into direct contact with the hair hairdryers do dry our the hair and cause split ends but over a longer period of time and if using a hairdryer hold it just above the hair pointing away from ya scalp and dont let it touch it and keep the dryer moving along the hair from root to tip this should help to limit the damage as well as smoothing the hair down betterWhich is worse? Hairdryer or hair irons?
irons... they touch the hair and burn it.... its also fixed

hair dryer blows air.. most also have cool settings.. and they are normally moved aroundWhich is worse? Hairdryer or hair irons?
Irons because they actually touch your hair and the temperature is way worse then hairdryers.
I think they are both pretty hard on hair. I stopped using both and my hair looks great natural and it has gotten so long and healthy and shiny.
Hair irons as its placed directly on your hair..

Hair dryer can be used from a distance of 12-14 cms but results are faster and better with hair irons..

Anyways, in this era we rather try to find something to fix this hair damage but we cant stop using hair dryers and hair-irons..

Both are harmful but drink lotsa water, eat healthy food, oil n condition well for 'wow' hairs
Both do damage but I would say hair irons are worse. I use both though or else my hair looks like a poddle's. lol.
I would probably say hair irons as they have more of a direct contact on your hair and are a lot hotter in temperature. My hair had definitely seen the damage done by straightening with hair irons.
I would think Irons as they are placed directly on your hair-however if you keep going over the same area really closely with the dryer it could be just as bad.
in my opinion its hair irons they heat is direct on the hair
hair irons are worse by far. i have not used a hot iron in my hair in years.usually i get mine professionally relaxed and wrapped.i also shampoo and condition my hair with quality conditioners about once every 8-12dayys.my hair grows better and look much heathier now.
irons but u can use hair spray so your hair is protected more
    BOTH:)
Depends how hot you have your straighteners.

Straighteners get better results but at a worse cost. They do damadge your hair.
hair irons are worse becuase they tend to used at high emps which damage your hair. At least with air dryers you can put the air temp on a low to medium setting and it will still dry your hair.

Also, both can be good n moderation and if you use something to protect your hair. like hair serums.
hair irons dry out your hair more, but they are both ok in moderation
Both are bad.... but I think the flat iron is worse. With those you are applying up to 500 degrees directly to the hair. If you leave either of them on too long they can cause damage. be sure to use good (not cheap) shampoo and other products
    hair irons do more damage
    irons......ssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
I would say hair irons because we tend to use them more on our hair and I think they retain more heat which may cause more heat damage.
    maybe the flat iron.
for your hair????.........irons but that doesn't stop me lol
i would say that both are equal in damage because they heat up the same amount of heat. and they both leave split ends.
hair straighteners cause serious split ends and burn and dry out hair. blow dryers r fine if you keep them the coprrect distance away from your head.

Advice on hair irons - CHI?

After somewhat hesitation, I broke down and bought the turbo chi hair straightner for 73 dollars. (on sale)

I know that people have had trouble with it because the heating mechanism would stop working. I also read somewhere that hair straightners usually stop working within a few months especially if they are left on a lot, and used everyday.

I don't straighten my hair everyday, probably once or twice a week, at the most three, and I always unplug it whenever I'm done.

Will I have any luck making it last for at least a year?Advice on hair irons - CHI?
I have never tried the CHI so I can't give you advice on that BUT if you decide you DON'T like the Chi and want to try something different, read the following!

My hair's natural state is frizzy and coarse and I could never get my hair really flat with just a blow dryer or with just a cheap Conair type flat iron. What I discovered about 10 years ago that has changed my life is the gold plated Helen of Troy straightener. I hear alot of people talk about ceramic plates but I still like the gold plates personally. I have used that brand for 10 years and have only gone through 2 irons in that time...they last forever! I straighten my hair about 3 times a week and turn it off when I'm done as well.

I heat it up about 3/4 the way to the highest setting, make sure my hair is completely dry and then do it in sections. My hair is not at all frizzy or puffy. I usually also use a hair shine spray on each section before running the iron over it. Also, it's only going to cost you around $40-$50, not $70!Advice on hair irons - CHI?
i'm pretty sure CHI has a lifetime warranty on their straighteners

    What say hair ironing or????

hey plz tell me the difference between hair ironing n hair straightening i mean i knw what the 2 are but i wanna know thr puposes n side effects...

    do help me...

    thank you

    What say hair ironing or????
hair ironing will temporarily straighten your hair so that you can wear it either straight or curly. Hair straightening is permanent. Both can damage your hair. I recommend hair ironing since you have options. It is important to remember that you need to use a re-constructor to prevent damage on your hair before you start to flat iron it. I put it on after the shower while my hair is damp. You must let your hair dry before you start to straighten your hair. You can keep reapplying as you iron. I only use CHI products. They even have a flat iron out on the market. It costs around $100.00. Next time you have a haircut ask the hairstylist to straighten your hair and keep an eye on the flat iron and products they are using. It will cost extra but at least you'll know what to do if you decide to start wearing your hair straight. What say hair ironing or????
they're the same...different places call that by different names

flatironing makes your hair very straight and shiney but you might get split ends

blowdrying makes my hair frizzy but it might be differnt foryou
There is no difference..Their the same thing....It's damaging, You can fry your hair, and make it break off. The purpose is to keep your hair straight intill it get's wet.
flatten out waves and dry it out.

    great for creating split ends.

unless you use the Teflon ceramic iron cost about $100.00

Anyone ever used H2D MK4 professional hair irons?

again - still trying to decide which irons to buy - these are 拢45.99 and clain to be better than GHD

please help this curly haired monster................Anyone ever used H2D MK4 professional hair irons?
personally i don't think the GHD's are worth paying for any more... all the other manufacturers are offering ceramics which are just as good.

I can't talk about this make but my guess is that they would be ok. I use a make called Kodo which I have had for years and had no problems with.Anyone ever used H2D MK4 professional hair irons?
why are you using these in your hair curl your own hair with out abusing it

    thank you
    Nope.

Are these hair irons hard to use (pic)?

    http://www.folica.com/Tigi_Bed_Head_D_d3/a>

i can easily use a straightener, but curling irons...well sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesnt (then again i do have a crappy curling iron)

so is that iron hard to use? it looks complicated...Are these hair irons hard to use (pic)?
yeah you should deffinantly get a GHD, they are amazing

you can do anything with them and it takes like 5 seconds for them to heat up really hot

they also come in pretty colors like hot pink ^^Are these hair irons hard to use (pic)?
they look complicated, i recommend ghd :D i have them, you can straighten, curl, do waves or whatever and you get a dvd with them showing you how to do the styles :D
    No, they shouldn't be.
    they are normally easy
ive never seen it before, but it does look complicated.

it may be pretty good.. but it may take a long time by the looks of it lol.

    Negative Ions, Hair Irons?

I have been looking for a new hair straightener, and I always see that some straighteners use negative ions to aid in the straightening. I was just wondering what that meant, and if getting exposed to them is safe.

    Hi,

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you, I think you may have been ripped off! It most definately should have come in a posh box as you said - did you order off an auction site such as ebay? If so contact them IMMEDIENTLY! if they refuse to refund the money, contact the website and tell them exactly what happened. If you paid through paypal you can easily get your money back just contact them asap. I hope everything works out, and you get what you wanted! :-)

Merry Christmas, and I hoped I helped!

GHD Hair irons, oh myyy :'(... Help !?
Omgg that sounds soo terrible :[

I think you should contact the seller ASAP and do not open the serum or the bag so that you can prove that it's not been like properly opened/used. If they refuse, seek legal action, if you bought it online then contact the actual company (Amazon, Ebay etc). Then you will be ok :]

    x
first of all i think you might have been ripped off but dw. Ring up or go on the site where they have sold them to you. Then ring them and they shud send you them and if your lucky then you might get a free gift token or somthing.
What site did you get them from? i got mine from www.ghdhair.com and the shampoo and stuff AND the straighteners all came together. trying ringing up the site you got them from xx

    Hair iron...?

Ok quick question which brand is better Chi or Solia?Hair iron...?
CHI is considered the #1 right now.Hair iron...?
    CHI

and the CHI hair syrum LOOVEEEE ITTT
I have a Chi, so I'm not really sure which is better. Try looking up ';Hair Iron reviews';, on google or yahoo.

    good luck :)
I have a CHI, and it the best iron I've ever had.

    Hair ironing?

Which product should I apply before and after hair ironing so that the effect will be for longer and good.Hair ironing?
Before I use heat protectant by HealthySexyHair. It is a spray that protects your hair from a lot of damage. After that I will use a little bit of Silk Therapy by Biolage which makes it silky and smooth. It is also a moisturizor. Then like every other girl just a few spritz of hairspray.

good luck. if these don't work you could ask someone at a salon what some good protectors are. I have used a lot of different brands and I like these the best so far:)Hair ironing?
hey i used to basically destroy my hair everyday because i couldnt find a protector that worked for my hair

and this stuff is awesome ive has it for over 6 months and im not even halfway though my bottle yet

    pps spray straight and protector

i always spray on the step 1 protector while my hair is still a little wet and they i blowdry it then i section off my hair and use step 2 spray straight spray it on each section and straighten right away

it is a really good product it protects smooths and straightens my hair all at the same time (my hair used to go really limp at the end of the day)

only problem with it is that if you use too much it is a little bit harder keep your style just like if your hair was wet while you straighten it.. we all know that dosent usally end to well even with a wet to straight

anyway i blabbed on too much

i also thought i would tell you that they cost %26amp;18.95 each but they are worth it and will last me well over a year

    http://www.girl.com.au/pps-hot-iron-protector-spray-straight.htm
If it is you know temporary then the best is a shampoo and a conditioner that make the hair soft and lessen the dries of your hair because this sort of straightening gets your hair dry and it is easier for your hair to fall.

If it is permanent then I think you should be OK with the products the hairdresser gives you but find a really good hairdresser OK!

that's is so easy isn't it!
i hope by iron, you mean straightener.

REDKEN smooth down heat protector before you straighten. LOVE it. meijer, target, or any salon has it.

it also helps to use a wider plate on your straightener, that keeps you smoother and silkier - longer :-)
if you have thick hair then apply some serum and a protective spray before ironing... if you have thin hair put very little serum because light hair dont usually support serum and that makes them very oily!
you can use a herbal essence moose.
Depends on your hair. everyones different.
go ask a a beauty store
its not stay more but harmfulness 4ever dont do practical on yr hair
there is nothing for that only spray that protects your hair from the heat
dont iron hair , so this que will not arise
im from us but am india

i say herbal moose and hair control stuff

    Bedhead hair irons?

I was wondering how good the straightening irons workBedhead hair irons?
They are not good i recommend a Chi or FHI but if you dont want to spend too much money)both are about 150-200$) Jilbere ceramic flat irons are just as good (I have a Chi and a Jilbere and the Jilbere works better) and they are about 50 bucks at Sally Beauty Supply.Bedhead hair irons?
Ehhh... I just got done with a Bedhead, and it was not a very good iron. I ended up buying a Chi. It's expensive, but definitely worth the price. The Bedhead irons are just a waste of money.
they work well but it omstly depends on the brand..

Remmington wet2straight is a good price and works quite well =)

    Hair ironing..?

is hair ironing everyday make your hair dry? before i go to work i used to iron my hair as it is very hard to manage..then after, i always put bio silk hair theraphy.. any comment?Hair ironing..?
Yes ironing your hair dries it out. Anything with heat including the sun dries out your hair. You need to moisturize all the time and do some hot oil treatments. This will keep your hair from being damaged excessively.Hair ironing..?
    yes
yes it dries your hair out but you can prevent it and make it better.... as long as you use heat protection spray on your hair BEFORE you straighten it and if you use that bio silk thing it will help! and don't forget to deep condition 1-2 times a week I am pretty sure you'll be fine just remember not to over do it and keep the iron moving to prevent excessive damage... and get your ends trimmed up every month or so to prevent split raggy ends

plus you might want to get ceramic plate straightening iron
My stepsister uses that same product and her hair is very shiny. (she uses the flat iron EVERY DAY she has reallllyyy curly hair)

I flat iron my hair every day, too. it does dry it out but i use products in it before like ones you put in when your hair is still wet. Using those helps it not dry it out as fast.

Garneir is good, pantene, bio silk, loreal studioline hot straight thermo straightening cream
I used to have dry hair on the ends due to perming and used hot oil treatments once or twice a week with great success.
ironing your hair will make it thin, dry and break of quickly, get ceramic plated teflon hair straightners and carry on with the silk hair therapy, that'll be better for your hair.
Yes ironing drys your hair out.

So do sraightners though cos they so hot.

Use a heat protector spray or serum.

    Hair Ironing Tool!!!! Please Help?

I want to ruffle my hair and I want to know if there are irons that will do that! I tried braiding it and all that stuff but it takes too long and is really a hassle! I have sort of thin hair and it is color treated (many, many, many highlights) I don't know if this helps but I'm 13? I want to ruffle it with waves and I think I've seen an iron that does it so can you explain how to use them? Thanks!!!!Hair Ironing Tool!!!! Please Help?
Get a crimping iron. If you have a straightener that has changeable plates, you can buy the crimping plates for it... but if not, I would recommend buying the iron... =]]. You can even get them at WalMart! Good luck.Hair Ironing Tool!!!! Please Help?
    Crimping iron?

Go to the store and buy one. There are instructions in the box or on youtube.

If you are poor or otherwise not financially inclined you can braid your hair wet and blowdry. Same effect, just has to be completely dry before taking it out. :)

  • Is hair ironing bad?

in ur opinion is it ok to iron the hair?

tips please,, thanks =)Is hair ironing bad?
    I do all the time.

But it damagages your hair. A lot.

so im not until school starts. :]Is hair ironing bad?
Any heat you use on your hair will eventually cause some damage.

You can minimize the damage by always making sure that your hair is COMPLETELY DRY before you use the flat iron. Also, using products made for flat ironing can help control the damage.

Think about skipping a day before washing. That way you are not putting your hair thru as many cycles of heat styling.
hello. i don't think it's BAD. lols. but yes i agree i damages your hair %26amp; gives you slpit ends. when ironing it just do it once in a while so your hair won't get damage. i striaght iron my hair all the time but it's not completely damge but i do get lots of split ends but then i trim my hair alot so you can't see that split ends.
It's OK to use with Alberto VO5 Extreme Style Heat Defense Conditioning Spray. I was thinking of using Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Built-In Protection No Lye Relaxer System, Extra Strength instead because I wouldn't have to worry about frizz or wispy hair and also not bothering to use a flat iron or blow dryer. You should try it but be careful if you recently bleached/dye your hair!!
I don't mind ironing my hair. I have been doing it for the last few years. The only problem with ironing your hair is that it causes split ends so you might wanna get a trim cut after a couple months. But yea I think you should be fine. I'm fine with my hair and i've been straightening since a long time. If you need tips on straightening your hair then I can tell you some.I hope your talking about a STRAIGHTENING IRON and not the one you use for clothes. That is usually not okay. It could burn your hair.
well if you mean an iron that your use on clothes DONT DO IT AND I REPEAT DONT DO IT!!!!!!!! if you mean doing it with a flat iron than the onlyy thing that will happen is that over time it will cause split ends but that is it it take my hair about 2 months to start getting split ends and i straiten my hair everyday!!! so you should be fine
no not if you do it the right way. also you can get split ends and brittle hair if you do it to much. also you can get split ends and brittle hair if you put water on your hair then curl it.
Iron at the most only 2-3 times a week.

Basically what your doing it burning your hair to the shape you want it.

And burning, of course, is not good.
It is okay. But, it does damage your hair. Try using a straightner gel that you think protects your hair the best.
    iron?! no way!
it is ok, but it does damage ur hair

Hair ironing is for making straight hair.right?

there are hair irons for making curls too.Hair ironing is for making straight hair.right?
yup.....that is it's only purpose and what it was designed to do BUT I bet you look gorgeous either way ! :^)Hair ironing is for making straight hair.right?
yeah but i know some irons that can curl and straighten!
    nope
yes of course it is !

    yes
Yes it is. You can also add curls too.

well my straightener and curling irons damage my hair and my mom says i cant use them so does any one no of any hair irons that don't damage your hair???????Can you get hair irons that dont damage your hair?????
Yes there are hair irons that do not damage your hair, they are all very expensive though. for example this one:

http://www.myhairstylingtools.com/karmin/a>Can you get hair irons that dont damage your hair?????
Ceramid flat irons are supposed to be better for your hair, but ultimately all irons will damage your hair. A lot of heat on your hair will undoubtedly change your hair's texture over time. I really think you should embrace your hair's natural state. I know this because I had my hair permanently straight for years... and eventually had to let it grow out. I'm happy I did... and I think everyone should really be happy with what they have and work it ;)
ones with ceramic plates are the best for your hair

mine is ceramic and my hair is fine
Pro Ceramic is excellent ! I only have to trim the end when I get a hair cut!And I have super Curly hair~
any kind of heat will damage your hair.. so the answer to your question is no.

If you know ANYTHING about HAIR IRONS please help!!!?

I would really like to buy a hair iron but im really confused about the pros and cons. Different stylists tell me different things and i don't know what to believe. I was strongly considering either a GHD, Babyliss, or Nikkei Red.

If you know anything about any hair irons let me know.

(I have a thick strand of hair.) thanx a million*If you know ANYTHING about HAIR IRONS please help!!!?
Hi if you get any, get GHDs! I have tried loads of others and they are nowhere near as good. I have really thick hair that is curly when wet! They make your hair really soft, really straight and even better, seems to thin it slightly, so it doesnt look too thick! If you know ANYTHING about HAIR IRONS please help!!!?
I knew of a girl that only used the GHD hair straightener and her hair was always so shiny and sleek GHD is a well established brand and clearly is the best I know it might seem expensive but its well worth it!!!

  • Do hair irons kill braincells?

    No.Do hair irons kill braincells?
Unless you're using them to iron out the wrinkles in your brain, no.Do hair irons kill braincells?
When applied directly to brain tissue, yes.
I don't think that is possible,

I don't even have an idea about it.

If you want an answer from here,

    You better loudly shout it.
Ya dude, if you hit yourself in the head with them.
yes... and the chemicals in your hairspray will give you tumors... and the curlers you use will make your hair grow faster... and blow driers cause dandruff
Not if the brain cells are already dead!
    Maybe.
i guess so if ur asking that
If you rippped your skull open and tried to heat up your brain, quite possibly it could.
    Absolutely not.
    i dont think so i use them almost ev ery day and im pretty smart :%26gt;
no, where did you hear that one?

ghd are really good - they are the only ones i've come across that actually do straighten properly.
    ghd
GHD's. Ive got them, and i wouldn't go back to any other hair straighteners.
Vidal Sassoon, micro crystal straighteners are great and work just as well as ghds, and are much cheaper (they are on sale at Argos for 拢25 right now) x
GHD, very expensive but definitely the best.
Right your not going to believe me here, but please for your own benifit believe me! Ghd's are great but cost roughly 拢100, I used to have a pair but accidently broke them, I didnt want to spend another 拢100 so wasted money on trying cheaper versions such as nicky clarke and Babyliss which never matched up to the GHD's. Then I went into Tescos and saw a pair of GhD style ceramic straighteners for 拢9.99 and decided to give them a bash and i swear to god they are just as good as the ghd's, if not better! i'l never waste money on expensive straighteners again no matter how much money I have to blow, I will be sticking to tescos ceramic plated for as long as they are in production!
    Up The Irons

    Sorry wrong section
GHD are the only ones that actually work properly in my experience, they come in three different widths of plate as well. I have had loads of different brands over the years and I would only ever buy GHD now!

Is hair ironing / straightening good for hair..?

pls suggest.....%26amp; how much will it cost in india/bangalore ??Is hair ironing / straightening good for hair..?
no. it burns the cuticle. Is hair ironing / straightening good for hair..?
its bad for your hair, but you can put products in your hair to help protect it
i flat iron my hair every day .

my sister is a hairdresser and she told me its fine to do it as long as you have a good flat iron or straightner .

also make suree ur hair is completely dry before you do it or u could damage your hairr by burning it .
no it drys your hair and it takes the shine you could straighten your hair but not all the time
no it drys out you hair
    burns it.

But take of your hair, and not that damage will occur.
it's bad for your hair - the more you do it - the more split ends you get etc

    xx
No!!! Its not good for your hair at all, but you can protect your hair from getting damaged and split ends, this way your preventing your hair from prematurely been damaged!!

Not sure of the cost in india, i have GHDS and they're like 拢115, not sure what that is in your country.

You can get them for much cheaper than that though
I assume by straightening you mean chemical straightening. Neither chemical straightening nor using a flat iron is good for your hair.
No, it dries out your hair, and if you do it too often, you hair will become very damaged.

    I've had it happen.

    trust me be careful.
Be careful not to burn it.
Yes, a huge problem. If you use it too often, it will cause your hair to get dry, dull, and lifeless.
Buy the ceramic ones. The other ones burn the hair shaft. AND REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Do you know of any good hair irons?

Ok..so my hair iron broke in half today. It was a Chi Ceramic Hair Iron..one of my favorites. Im deciding to buy a new one but I don't know if I should get Chi or some other brand. Ladies, any advice? Do you know of any good ones? Please let me know..Do you know of any good hair irons?
Chi is definitely the way to go! They're worth the money they cost. My 2nd choice is the Rusk ceramic iron.Do you know of any good hair irons?
The Chi Iron is one of the best so I would stick with it. No one Iron can beat the Chi!
i use conair and it works great
If that one was one of your favorites and worked for you get another one.
Conair works the best. I have had one for 3 yrs and have no complaints. Best brand ive ever seen. I have had every kind of hair irons on the market and Conair is the best. Hope this helps

    Good Luck!
Hi... I bought maxi glide by maxius(straightening) I also bought beyond straight for humidity and I buy Biosilk(silk therapy)smells great and is great for frizz.

Well...the CHI works great but honestly, havent you noticed that everytime you use it, smoke comes out and your hair literally comes out burnt afterwards, like after washing your hair..?

Its good cause it straightens hair in like 10 minutes...but I know a really good straightener that I bought on ebay.

It's called HAI Convertible. It has blue cermaic plates and works wonders for my hair. Also you can actually change the temp unlike the CHI. It goes up to 410 degrees.

    And if you must know...

It's CHI's one and only competitor. Why? Cause its cheaper.

Not cheap cheap as in like those metal irons for 20 bucks, but as in 20-30 dollars cheaper than the CHI.

Go to Ebay or Folica.com and research on the straightener HAI. IT's by Hair Art Information. I promise you will love it as well. Try it. It has a bunch of versions, a rly good one would be the original but I got the Convertible one cause you can flip your hair or curl it as well. Hope it helps.
i absolutly love the remington wet 2 straight!!!!!!!!!!!! it works wonderfully, heats up quickly, and has adjustable temperatures! i have partially thick, layered curley hair and it only takes me 20 minutes to dry it when its wet! i got it at target for only $27.99 and it was worth EVERY PENNY!! know i don't have to mess with a blow dryer and brushes!!
yea eaither go online u may get it on their web site or goto sallys beauty supplie and they can get it for u or if u know a hair dresser they can get u one

  • Hair ironing, And usage of conditioner?

I have a wavy hair, And I use a ceramic hair iron. When I iron my hair, it looks straight immediately but gets wavy at the bottom after some times...but stays o.k for the whole day.......(not very straight) and then gets slightly wavy the next day. It never looks moisturised or shiny. :(

But my sis has the same type of hair.... uses the same shampoo......... same iron....same method....same temperature.......but gets a shiny, moisturised finish.......and it stays straight. What can I do to improve? Is any body having the same problem?

Once i read that you should leave the conditioner for abot 10 mins before washing it....... and some says to wash it immediately. Which is correct?

Thanx a lot...!Hair ironing, And usage of conditioner?

THE BIBLE FOR YOUR HAIR (i promise)Hair ironing, And usage of conditioner?
It probably all depends on your genes. Just because your sister doesn't have a prob. doesn't mean you won't. My hair is usually wavy and I straighten it 2-3 times a week since it takes ONE HOUR to do, a lot of time. Use Herbal Essence conditioner (pink bottle, smells like flowers) with Fruitese ';Sleek %26amp; Shine'; for a month. WIth that use Fruitese ';Milk Smoothing'; product and spray :some: hairspray onto your hair when wet. I have used this method for 4 years now and it has worked great. My hair is really smooth and silky and stays straight all day. Give it a try for a couple months and see what happens.

    Good luck :o)
Regular conditioners are meant to be rinsed immediately, leaving it on longer has no effect unless it's meant to be (read on the back in instructions)

Try some Paul Mitchell SuperSkinny serum. It works wonders for that wave.

    Who invented hair strenghtners?

Well people in the 60's used to iron their hair to keep it straight and I'm sure the concept goes a lot further back then that!Who invented hair strenghtners?
i don't know but im glade they did!...lol...Who invented hair strenghtners?
    Atleat i did not
    i dunno but i love them :)
    The egyptians.
    A genius - that's for sure. haha..I love mine!
Garret Morgan who was born March 4th in 1877 invented the first form of the hair straightener which was a liquid he found from sewing needles in the sewing machine. He accidentally wiped it on a cloth and when he returned from dinner with his wife the evening the fibers on the cloth were standing straight up. From tehre he tried it on a breed of dog called the Airedale that is a breed of large terriers having a wiry, black and tan coat and a docked tail. The dog formed perfectly straight hair unlike its natural state. From there other inventors modified this new found product until it evolved into a ceramic peice of equipment you can plug into walls or use batteries for.

    Hope it helps.
The first hair straightener was invented by Madame C.J. Walker using chemicals of scalp preparation and lotions to straighten the hair. Unfortunately, using this invention soon led to damaged, scorched hair from all the chemicals that were added, but as technology improved, so did the hair straighteners. Years later, M. Marcel Grateau invented heated metal hair care implements such as hot metal combs. Using the metal hair care, the straightener slid easier through the hair, causing less damage and dryness as previously used techniques. After this invention, ceramic and electrical straighteners were introduced, allowing adjustment of heat settings and straightener size. Another method of hair straightening is Japanese Hair Straightening, which acts as a sort of ';anti-perm'; and is available at most salons. A new trend is the use of tourmaline being crushed into irons and other hair appliances since they generate many negative ions which have positive effects on hair. Most high end salon or professional brands use tourmaline and/or ceramic hair irons.

Less expensive brands may use aluminum plates, however aluminum is not as good for the hair, and is less effective. Higher quality irons use ceramic plates and even higher quality hair straighteners use ceramic tourmaline plates.

A number of products may be used to stop the hair from drying when it is straightened. Straightening may cause split ends and thinning of the hair.

Hair straighteners must never be used on wet hair unless they are specified as wet to dry straighteners. Even then the hair cannot be soaking wet. Straightening when hair is wet causes the hair to burn.

they need to make one where you can put it in your purse, and make it have batteries...

In 1872, Marcel Grateu used heated rods to straighten or style hair. patented a hair straightener in 1906 that comprised metallic teeth that are combed through the hair, while in 1909 Isaac K. Shero patented a hair straightener composed of two flat irons that are heated and pressed together., however the hair straightners, as we know them today, are credited to Scottish heiress, Lady Jennifer Bell Schofield, who refined and combined previous efforts into a hinged, two plated heated iron in 1912.
