Can you get burned with a hair iron?

I have a scar to prove you can. I layed my arm on one when I was 4 years old.





UPDATE: I had it on my skin for about 4 seconds before I felt it -- by that time it was too late. It would probably not happen to an adult (unless you're very clumsy).Can you get burned with a hair iron?

Yes ! And depending on the type of iron (some are hotter than others like the professional ones I used in salons) it can be extremely painful and pretty bad!
yeh ihave curly hair i ironed my hair every day with no prtecion it i smelt like burining hair not i a nice smell i woundn't advisie it
Absolutely. It's hot enough to hurt when you touch it. Even at a lower temperature, prolonged contact with one could easily burn.

Well Yeah They Are Hot .. But my hairs up to my shoulders and i can straighten my hair without burning myself ! But yep it does hurt if you do burn yourself :D So just be careful ..x

my ceramic chi gets to 450 degrees. Darn right you can get burned! In fact I have a scar on my thumb from dropping my iron and STUPIDLY trying to catch it. I've been in a rush and clamped down on my ears. HA
