it really depends on two things:
1. how much time you have to use it (like 15 minutes before school or and hour before you fo out to dinner)
2. your hair type
so...
1. if you only have a short amount of time that you will be using it for every day, a 2 inch or larger one is probably your best bet. It will get what you need done in the time that you have. If you have bangs though, get a smaller one, and just allow for more time because bangs are impossible to style with a large one.
2. If you have thick, curly, wavy or textured hair, get an ceramic one, because it will get it done faster, and make it look let frizzy and more smooth. Thin hair really doesn't matter, any type will work. What should i look for in a hair iron?
DONT buy conair, no matter how good it looks or sounds, it will not be good.
I'm not sure what your price ranges are, but i baught mine for 200$ and i love it! the max. heat is 450 degrees, and it has a ready light that flashes to tell you when its ready to be used, and its heat up time is 15 seconds.
i have had mine for about a year and it still hasent lost any heat.
the brand is metropolis and i baught it at a local beauty salon near me, so they arent hard to find.
Chi's work very well, but are also quite expensive.
for straighteners, i would say that the more expensive, the better quality it is. If you are going to be using it every day or more than twice a week, i would suggest a high quality salon brand name one.
cheap straighteners loose heat after a while, so it will eventually have to be replaced. in the long run you are better off to buy one thats around $180 as apposed to a walmart brand that is $30.
if you wanto use it to curl your hair with it, buy one that is rounded.
if you go to a beauty salon dont just pick the first one you see, ask questions and get advice from the employees.
:) hope i could help!
you mean flat iron?
I suggest the solia or the chi.
They both straighten really well, and can also curl, wave and flip.
The heat that it goes up too is also high which is good.
here's a review of the chi flat iron:
