i would say ghd, but that is expensive soooo.... there is a brand called cutex very cheap work well you can get them from kmart, target etc. Otherwise remington straighteners are great. remeber to spray your hair with a heat protecter first and then optionally apply a straightening balm.I want a hair iron for my frizzy, curly, dry hair.I want them glossy. The best kind of flat iron is a ceramic one. There are some cheaper ones on the market but the best one is going to have a temp control on it and ceramic plates. Just go into your local beauty salon supplier store(Sally's depending on where you are at.) and ask them to reccomend one and tell them not too expensive. Too, when you flat iron, use a paddle brush to straighten the curl out while you are ironing. this will ensure smooth straight results. Also, get one that is narrow as to ensure to get closer to the roots.
there are some that range around $60 that are pretty good...

be sure to look for a ceramic one (others with metal plates take out the moisture instead of locking it in).

Also, you'll want one that you can adjust the temperature on. Mine supposedly goes up to 400 degrees, and it can tame MY hair (it's pretty frizzy and dry... but no one knows...)

i also prefer the straighteners with thin plates. the thinner the plates are, the closer to the root you can get. =)

hope this helps!
uhmm...i think you are saying you want a straitener and you dont knoe what brand...but uhm i have curly hair and i bought a straitener called ';her styler'; i think the web site is herstyler.com if you want to check it out, its really pricey...but it makes my hair shiney and holds on the strait all day and sometimes through the shower.
i dont understand

Use ceramic irons. You can get Andis (brand name) at Wal-Mart for less than $20. They work well and last long. Ceramic Irons help to keep moisture in your hair.
Get Chi. I'm not sure if it's expensive, but it's sure worth it!
i have dead frizzy curly hair to.. im miserable...
